Shipping & Returns
Silksplash offers USPS or UPS shipping services. Silksplash does not ship C.O.D.  All orders are shipped according to the customer’s request during checkout and are FOB New York City.  This means that once the items leave our dock, it is the agent (authorized by you as being USPS or UPS) who is responsible for the safekeeping of your package.  Delivery by a trucking company can be arranged on larger orders, call for quotes.  If you prefer, you are welcome to arrange for your own freight company to pick up your order instead.

Shipping rates are based on the weight of the packaged order, include marginal handling and packaging costs, and may include insurance/delivery confirmation costs if applicable. USPS orders are not guaranteed by a certain day, but USPS does indicate that Priority Mail arrives in 2-3 days. Late deliveries cannot be reimbursed if this option is selected. You can use the tracking number that is sent to you (a copy is also in your account when it ships) to track your package on our website.

During busy times, if you are on the West Coast or Midwest and have selected UPS GROUND, SOS may upgrade your shipment to Priority Mail at no extra charge to you in order to get your products to you in a timely fashion. Multiple box shipments (orders that include cases of incense, bottles, or jugs) sometimes arrive a day apart and may incur additional shipping charges. Give the packages at least 1 extra day to arrive before calling for a tracer.  Priority Mail usually takes about 2-3 days for delivery and UPS orders depend on your zone.  Please refer to the following map for UPS transit times.


UPS Transit Times

Please do not miss your delivery. If the carrier is unable to make delivery for any circumstance other than our error, you will be responsible for the cost of re-shipping your package. Any packages returned to us due to customer refusing delivery will be billed for the shipping charges incurred, plus an 80% restocking fee unless refused due to an error on our part.


Damaged Shipments
 If your package does not arrive in acceptable condition, Do Not Accept it from the carrier. If you accept the damaged package from the courier you will be responsible for the return shipping cost. Please call Silksplash at 888.872.3687 immediately if you find your package was damaged in transit.  All packages leave our warehouse in good condition.  Our responsibility ceases upon delivery of our goods to the carrier.

Canadian/International Orders
Please be aware that additional charges may be assessed by customs at the border, including GST taxes and UPS brokerage fees. We cannot estimate these fees prior to shipping. United States Postal Service (USPS) tends to be more lenient with brokerage fees and/or duties, however, as you can surmise, it is more difficult to track a package. Insurance is included, however, except for USPS orders UNDER four (4) lbs. If you do choose USPS, your order will not ship until the next scheduled USPS drop-off day. 
International orders incur a $3.00 handling fee per order as there is no pickup in our area and it requires a drop-off.  Priority Mail & Surface Mail are available to Hawaii & Alaska. Air Parcel Post (2-3 weeks) & Parcel Post Surface Mail (4-8 weeks) are available outside of the US. If shipped Parcel Post, there is a 30 day waiting period before a tracer or claim can be placed on the package.


Returns
Fragrance oils are not returnable under any circumstances, unless shipped by error on our part. This policy is non-negotiable. We encourage you to sample our fine fragrances first to assure your complete satisfaction. This policy is for your protection so we can ensure the high quality of our products. With this policy in effect, you can rest assured that the products you buy from us have not been contaminated by any outside sources.  All other merchandise returns accepted only within 7 days of receipt. Returns must be approved, please call or e-mail info@silksplash.com for authorization. Unless our error, a 20% restocking fee will apply to all returns of NON-fragrance oil items to cover credit card fees, labor incurred, etc and 80% restocking fee will be charged to unauthorized returns of fragrance oils to cover the same as well as the now unusable fragrance oils. Approved returned merchandise must be received in proper packaging and in good condition to be accepted. IF ITEMS ARE NOT RECEIVED IN RE-SALEABLE CONDITION, THEY MAY NOT BE ACCEPTED.  Unless due to an error on our part, customer is responsible for shipping on all returns. In-store credit only, no cash refunds are given unless shipment was our error. Do not send new orders with returned items for an exchange! Doing so might delay your order, as returns are unpacked in the order they are received.  You will be notified when we receive your return, and then you can use that store credit on a new order.
